Been there

It's not just you!

I wish my friends and family understood what I'm really going through. And stopped thinking recovery is this quick and easy fix.

I live my whole life for everyone else. I want to take time out of the day  for myself and not feel guilty.

People talk about finding their purpose and all that jazz, but maybe I just don't have one. Or even worse, what if I do, but I fail at it.

Will I ever fully forgive my Mom? I understand she had her own struggles and did the best she could, but it's still so darn hard to accept my family.

Will I relapse again? I mean I feel "OK" now. But I don't know if I'll ever fully be out of the weeds.

Even though I embrace HAES, I still worry about what I eat the day after I go to a restaurant and break all my old ED food rules.

I'll never really feel happy with my body. I've complained about the cellulite and size of my thighs for decades. I just want to walk past a mirror and be unfazed.

BUT YOU STILL FEEL LIKE SOMETHING IS MISSING. and you can't stop the same old stories from popping up...

And you stopped spending tons of money (and toilet paper) on skinny fit green tea

You followed pro recovery accounts on IG

You've sent the scale to Goodwill

LEMME GUESS...YOU'VE BEEN AT RECOVERY FOR A LONG TIME, AND YOU'VE HIT SOME KEY MILESTONES.

The struggle is real

You're

NOT ALONE

people will never remember your jean size, but they will remember your laughter, the challenges you overcame, and the way you pursued your own version of happiness.

This is the million dollar question. In my decade of working with people with eating disorders, I've never met someone deep in their eating disorder who felt truly happy and fulfilled in life.

But I have witnessed thousands of my students rise up, change their stories, and fully recover.

But how Jessica? I've been living with ED for years. I've haggled insurance for treatment, educated therapists on eating disorders, and Eat Pray Loved myself through Europe and I still feel like my food and body issues are a chapter I can't fully close.

I see you. I was you. And a long time ago I decided to do something different. I stepped out of the recovery self-help section, and focused my time and energy on creating my identity outside of an eating disorder. All the while, activating the skills that would allow me to tackle the deeper issues that led to the eating disorder in the first place.

At first it seemed counterproductive to not focus on "the problem", but the more I unlearned and learned about who I truly was, I found my version of happiness was nothing like the script I tried to perfectly follow for years. In fact, choosing a new script gave me the permission to leave academia and start a company that's positively impacted millions of lives around the world.

Over the years, I've learned recovery, from start to finish, takes courage and requires you to try out new ways of being and doing. And this hard work is an achievement of a lifetime because...

Who would you be if you weren't forever 'fixing' your body and if you didn't Continually obsess over what you ate?

- Mary

speech-mark

“Now having done the work in the Courage Club I am over the hump and consider myself fully in recovery. I am focused on being free. My curiosity is off the charts. I want to share my story more and help other women my age.”

Whatever stories you wrote about the world, other people, and yourself years before you could drive, vote, or even open a bank account, need to be questioned and re-written. You're ready for a new story.

I am alone

Not good enough

I'm too much

I'm not safe

Life is too hard

I'm a burden

trust issues til I die

I'm a failure

They manifest as beliefs and behaviors - which explains why those midnight missions to the kitchen feel unstoppable.

Most of us never learned how to identify feelings. Let alone manage them with compassion and curiously examine how they work in tandem with beliefs and thoughts. All the limiting beliefs and thoughts that you unconsciously hold as truths keep you stuck in a disempowering story.

I know it because I've lived it. Which is exactly why I want to help. Because it's hard to fully recover from an eating disorder and become who you're truly meant to be if you're still believing false stories.

unresolved Feelings fuel your food issues.

Feelings that aren't properly dealt with don't evaporate into thin air or magically disappear into your therapist's ear.

unresolved Feelings fuel your food issues.
Feelings that aren't properly dealt with don't evaporate into thin air or magically disappear into your therapist's ear.

It's not about the food

If you want to live happily ever after without an ED, you gotta dig deeper than food and body talk. I know you wanna beat yourself up when you open up the freezer and barrel down spoonfuls of cookie dough ice cream or rip open containers of cold lasagna leftovers like a zombie in pajamas. I've been there. But together we will unpack why your unconscious autopilot sets you up for these self-sabotage missions. Because at the end of the day you already know...

stories of recovery happen all the time and, yes, you can have one too.

Loved so much

good enough as is

I shine

I'm wanted

I am supported

Yes, I can!

I approve of myself

I can do hard things

"The rest of my life and my future dreams seem so possible now. I love to embrace my Recovered Identity!!!"

"I see my worth without a number defining all that I am and have to offer the world and those around me."

"I have a whole tool kit now that I can turn to when I notice ED is holding me back"

"I am a strong, confident badass who feels connected to myself and others. I no longer feel alone! I am a different person."

This Could Be You

The SKILLS, GUIDANCE, AND COMMUNITY SUPPORT YOU NEED TO become your own success story

The Courage Club is a 6 month coaching program and close-knit community experience for high achieving women who are SO ready to FULLY recover, and know in their heart they can be behavior free once and for all with the right training, support, and resources.

The Courage Club

Introducing

Success story!

Post eating disorder life is easier when you master life-changing skills like: mindfulness, self-care, emotional awareness, and daily gratitude. Inside the club, you take these skills from theory to practice to mastery.

practice core
coping skills

Your soul doesn't care about the approval of others. Within the club, you have full permission to explore your gifts and skills in a judgment free setting. We encourage you to let go of perfectionism and write that first rough draft or sing that song.

learn what makes your soul shine

Let's be real. Your thoughts about body and food are hard to say out loud, let alone be understood by the people you care about most. Inside the club, you're not alone. People get where you're coming from. You can speak freely and won't be judged.

Connect to a solid support System

- Julie (high school Counselor)

I was alone. I was in the darkness of hell with ED. I was lost. I was losing hope that recovery could ever be possible for me.

Now I am a strong, confident badass who knows kindness, compassion, and love for myself and others. I am in the light. I am no longer alone!

I am a different person. I feel connected to myself and others, I have confidence, I am practicing self compassion, mindfulness, and assertiveness, I am learning to relax, AND I appreciate all the things my body does for me.

I could go on and on! I am grateful for too many things to name! The Courage Club literally changed my life! Thank you!

What's Inside

The Courage Club Curriculum

The Courage Club consists of five parts that make up your core foundation for success. Each training component is designed to give you the confidence to fully step away from the eating disorder.

It works!

Focus on the #1 area you need to develop in order to make decisions that align you with your "recovered self" identity.

How to calculate your archetypal pattern and figure out "What Kind of Warrior Are You?": Earthy Routine Lover, Watery Big Feeler, Airy Witty Wordsmith, or a Fiery Ambitionista.

A new perspective that'll release years of shame stories that keep you playing small and stuck in "Imposter Syndrome".

The answer to: "what am I suppose to do with the rest of my life?" We'll give you a blueprint of your strengths, zones of genius, and show you where to get laser focused with your energy.

Breathe a huge sigh of acceptance when you look at the archetypal pattern of your friends and family. It's not their fault...it's their pattern!

what you'll learn:

01

PART

We develop a roadmap with you to discover your identity and core values beyond a 40 question online test. And help you put the healing insights into action.

You're unique,
and so is your archetypal pattern

 AMY (MOMMA)

I am a momma in my 40's fighting for recovery. I felt strong until COVID and then had huge setbacks. Now I am feeling so good about where I am. I have new skills and the Archetypal stuff, which in full transparency, I initially thought was too woo-woo for me, has helped me really understand how much for me is ingrained in who I am and those traits are not bad or good they just are. Now I want to learn more and more around this. The feeling of hope, possibility and curiosity was worth every single penny and every minute of time.

ABBY (NURSE in training)

I was alone in my recovery and needed extra support, guidance and a community to keep me accountable. This program really pushed me beyond what I thought I could do. The self-discovery work helped me understand why I’m the way I am and helped me to tap in the right places to heal.

a new way of
goal-setting that sets you up for lasting success

We teach you a framework that ties in the pro-recovery actions within the club into alignment with the ancient wisdom of the moon cycle.

How to use the MOON Mapping framework to set intentions you can follow through on and get high-fives from the group for achieving.

Exactly what a lunar cycle is, how long it lasts, and what each of the four phases means for you and reaching your goals.

Why most recovering perfectionists set goals in a way that backfires. (This not only kills momentum but destroys confidence)

A transformative solution to the problem: "I don't know who I am without an eating disorder?"

How to tackle big ambitious goals like writing a memoir into digestible steps you can confidently cross off your to-do list.

LISETTE (Writer)

Learning to set goals in sync with the moon cycle has helped me achieve important life goals. I now work in my dream job that is aligned with my purpose. I feel more solid, more grounded, more free, and more connected. At this point in my journey — the exciting thing is seeing how the skills I have gained in recovery now help me face other non-eating disorder challenges in my every day life.

I have learned that sharing and support is really something I need in daily life. I don't open up easily, but this feels like the first step and it feels really good. I made friends here that understand my process and I understand their process. I am so grateful for that.

EMILY (ECONOMIST)

The connection with other beautiful, inspiring women during this time of less social interaction in day-to-day life has been so valuable. Having people around who get it, doesn’t make me feel as isolated anymore. The Courage Club has helped me to stay grounded and focused on my recovery and the things that are most important to me. It was a little beacon of light giving me accountability and inspiration 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

This support system has been huge with staying on track and has helped me each day grow stronger in recovery! Support can look different from what you expect. It doesn't have to come from your family or friends or others that you share a home with. This has been an incredible experience!

Our Courage Club Members Are...

Women who are past the "is this eating disorder going to go away on it's own?" question. They know they have to think and act differently to have lasting recovery.

Teachers, coaches, doctors, performers, and caretakers who want permission to get creative, make fun collages, vision boards, write in their journal, and express themselves.

Old souls who notice the subtle synchronicities in life and want to feel supported in their spiritual awakening. They love the idea of oracle decks & setting intentions on the New Moon.

Done explaining their ED to people who don't get it. They know that in order to commit to their recovery in a bigger way they need to have connections that illuminate what is possible and encourage them to stay on the path.

To-do list aficionados. They want to find time to stop, slow down, relax, and reflect on what’s most important to them. And cross off that self-care box.

We like to call our members

because in this 6 month program, you'll learn the strategies that will impact how you live your daily life, which means you'll use the transformation and healing you'll receive in the Courage Club to reinforce your recovery and make it strong as steel.

Before the Courage Club I was feeling lost, ED was the center of my life and I didn’t believe full recovery was possible. I felt stuck in my recovery journey, so I decided to try something different. Through the Courage Club, I've found connection to a community and myself. Now I'm discovering who I am outside of my relationship with food and body.

It helped me focus on the lifelong skills that I need to maintain for recovery. My gratitude group is amazing. I have made friends for life who understand exactly what I’ve been through and who cheer me on when I need it. The way Jessica helps people recover and stand on their own two feet is incredible. She has changed my life.

As a kid, my very first memory of food was 2 loaves of toasted Wonder Bread, a stick of butter, and a jar of raspberry jelly at home alone watching a marathon of the Brady Bunch. I was lonely, my dad left. My Mom was a waitress. A free spirit, she loved a strong margarita. And stayed out til closing time. I was 7 years old.

By 9, I was hustling - organizing and dusting cans - at the nearby 7-Eleven to squirrel away bags of day old donuts.

I craved loved. Like all humans, I needed attention and affection. So I searched for it through puff pastries and an endless pursuit for praise.

So who is the moon lovin' maven behind all this self-empowerment?

A die-hard perfectionist - Valedictorian, Varsity Captain of my volleyball team, and Magna Cum Laude - my identity became points scored on tests and on the court. Eventually weight became the next number and calorie counting my highest priority. As much as I desperately tried, I couldn't maintain the meager portions. So I took extreme measures to compensate when I felt like I "failed". This cycle of self-punishment went on for years.

3 things pulled me out of the eating disorder cycle and for these I owe my life:

1.) I opened up to other women who had similar struggles with food and body. Even though my family wasn't supportive of my recovery, I found connections where I felt understood. I was no longer alone.

2.) I got an astrology reading and felt shockingly seen as my strengths, weaknesses, and traumatic life events were laid bare by a complete stranger. Surely there must be something to this ancient system. I've spent the past 14 years obsessively studying it, using it as a tool for self-discovery and personal growth.

3.) My best friend gifted me the book, "You Can Heal Your Life" by Louise L. Hay on my birthday. Inside the front cover she wrote, "Jess, there is always a choice." In that moment, I realized I needed to choose recovery. Abusing food and beating up my body was never going to take away the shame I felt for being physically and emotionally abandoned. The story that I wasn't good enough to be loved and cared for needed to be re-written. It was time to face the root issues and heal them.

You know as much as I do, healing doesn't happen overnight. It's a process. And there are specific skills one needs to master in order to see true transformation.

That's why I created the Courage Club. To give you the support system and resources you need to heal and elevate what's possible in your life. This work is how I've been able to positively impact millions of lives, including my very own.

I can promise you this...YOU without an eating disorder is a much happier, healthier, vibrant version of yourself.

If you want to face the real issues that block your success and heal them, you'll find that safe space here. When we work together, not only will you get meaningful results in resolving your issues with food and body, but you'll also have more faith in yourself and the courage to pursue what makes your soul shine.

When you apply to the Courage Club, we will decide together if you're a good fit to work together over the next 6 months. In my experience, this is the ideal amount of time to set the foundation for lasting change. Your brain power and big sensitive heart are too important to waste on worrying over your next meal or the shape of your thighs. By applying you give yourself the opportunity to join a group of like-minded and supportive women who will cheer you on to keep going, until one day your eating disorder is something you refer to in the past tense. It's possible for it to become an experience you reflect on in the years to come, but not as a present every day burden.
